When setting up an Asgaros forum it is possible to assign user groups to the Categories. There is a description (See following thread for screen shot) which states that if you select user groups it shall hide the Category and Forum unless logged in.
This makes perfect sense as how does the forum know to display the posts unless the user is logged in and then the program knows the user group they belong to.
